Reflection on this Course

I think that learning minority languages in the UK is the most interesting because I was surprised that the UK has so many dying languages. This session made me think about Japan as well as the UK. We have many dialects in Japan; however, we do not really have minority languages unlike the UK. Maybe Ainu language or Ryukyuan languages could be minority languages. It is so interesting that the country size of the UK is not really big; even smaller than Japan. Besides, both countries are islands, but they have many minority languages in the UK. Since we do not really have minority languages in Japan, I had never thought how hard to promote minority languages. It was a fun to think about minority languages.

To be honest, the best thing I can remember is seminar trip. I had a fun playing golf, eating, watching a movie, talking at night, shopping, and so on. The movie we watched “The Full Monty” was way better than I expected. This trip was the only chance to get to know 3rd year students from this seminar. I was so happy to meet and talk to them. I still talk to some of them when I see them on campus. Anyway, I appreciate this course to give me a chance to think about the UK, and I learned a lot through this course. I am satisfied with what I have done as well as this course itself. I am thinking that I tried as much as I could. Finally I would thank to Simon for teaching us through nearly one year. Thank you!
